Lava stones

VOLCANIC LAVA AGGREGATE (RED, BROWN, & BLACK)

Our lava aggregate is an **ultra-lightweight volcanic material** sourced from high-quality deposits in **Southern Türkiye**, near the port of Iskenderun (Yumurtalik).

It is volcanic in origin, primarily composed of volcanic glass, and is typically silica-rich (acidic), though occasionally more basic types are found. Its unique characteristics make it ideal for applications requiring structural integrity combined with greatly reduced weight.

Key Characteristics & Color Varieties

Ultra-Lightweight & Porosity

  • **Extremely Low Dry Bulk Density:** 550–800 kg/m³ – placing it among the lightest lava stones worldwide.
  • **High Porosity:** Up to 85%, allowing the stone to float under certain conditions—a rare characteristic for volcanic rock.
  • **Comparison to Pumice:** Naturally darker but similarly lightweight—ideal where reduced weight with structural integrity is needed.

Color Varieties

Our lava is available in a striking range of natural tones, influenced by mineral composition and oxidation level:

  • **Reddish Lava:** Warm red-brown tones offer a distinctive, earthy appeal, perfect for horticulture, decorative ground cover, and landscaping.
  • **Black Lava:** Features an intense, deep color that is exceptionally rare in the market. It combines striking aesthetics with proven lightweight benefits, ideal for high-end architectural projects and premium substrate blends.
  • **Brown/Dark Grey:** The natural color range bridges the gap between the red and deep black variants.

Applications & Industries

Applications

  • **Horticulture & Landscaping:** Soil amendment for improved drainage and aeration, greenhouse & nursery substrates, decorative ground cover, and mulching material.
  • **Specialized Soil Mixes:** Component in cactus and succulent soil mixes, carrier material in hydroponic or soilless growing systems.
  • **Construction:** Component in cement, building materials, and road & civil construction.
  • **Industrial Filler:** Used in the chemical industry as a filler for plastics, paper, paints, and varnishes.

Yinovia Minerals: Trusted Industrial Mineral Supplier for Europe, the Middle East and Asia

Yinovia Minerals is a Hamburg-based independent trade and supply partner specialising in industrial minerals and ores. The company connects manufacturers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia with reliable producers — primarily in Turkey — and delivers end-to-end supply chain solutions. With strong producer partnerships in Turkey and a strategic location in Hamburg, Yinovia Minerals facilitates access to high-quality raw materials for global industry.

With a broad portfolio spanning pumice, pa), sodium feldspar, pozzolan/trass,amorphous silica and magnesia, Yinovia Minerals serves the ceramics, glass, construction, cement, paints, plastics, oil & gas and cosmetics sectors. Every supply process is backed by on-site inspection, laboratory analysis and multilingual documentation support — underpinning a reliable partnership model at every step.

Our Product Portfolio

Barite (BaSO₄) — High-Purity Barium Sulphate

Yinovia Minerals’ natural barite offers excellent density (4.2–4.4 g/cm³) and chemical inertness, covering a wide range of applications from oil & gas drillinplastics and radiation-shielding concrete. With BaSO₄ purity of 90–98%, the product is available in three grades: Drilling Class, Micronised Class and High-Purity White. Shipments are made from the ports of Mersin and Iskenderun.

Sericite (Fine-Grained Mica) — For Cosmetic and Industrial Applications

Distinguished by its fine lamellar structure, high whiteness and very low abrasiveness, sericite is a versatile mineral used in cosmetic powders, eyeshadows and foundation formulations as well as industrial paints, ceramics, porcelain and polymer additives. With SiO₂ (45–55%), Al₂O₃ (20–26%) and K₂O (6–8%), it delivers outstanding chemical stability. Available in 25–50 kg bags, big bags or bulk from the ports of Mersin, Izmir and Gemlik.

Pumice — Natural Volcanic Raw Material from Central Anatolia

Quarried from the volcanic regions of Central Anatolia, pumice stands out for its lightweight structure with a dry bulk density of 380–600 kg/m³ and low thermaK). It is used as lightweight concrete aggregate, in road construction and thermal ctor; as a plant-growing substrate and greenroof medium in horticulture; and as a filter medium in cement and chemicals. Largely freed from clay and impurities, and with lower moisture content than washed alternatives, our pumice eliminates costly washing processes. Bulk shipments from Iskenderun and Yumurtalık ports.

Expanded Perlite — Thermal Insulation an

Sourced from Turkish volcanic glass deposexceptional thermal and acoustic insulation with a bulk density of 30–150 kg/m³. Chemica-combustible, it is widely used inlightweight concrete blocks, insulation panels and mortars; soilless growing media and substrate blends; food and chemical industry filtration; and cryogenic insulation. With a SiO₂ content of 70–75%, it meets high quality standards and is available for container or bulk shipment from Iskenderun and Yumurtalık.

Sodium Feldspar, Pozzolan/Trass and Other Industrial Minerals

The Yinovia Minerals portfolio also includes sodium feldspar for ceramics, tiles and glassware; pozzolan and trass as low-CO₂ cement binders; amorphous silica for specialty fillers and structural additives; and brucite and magnesia for refractory materials and flame retardants. Every product is supplied with customised particle size, purity and colour parameters matched to the customer’s formulation requirements.
